1. Sample answer Part 1
• Do you enjoy your work?
I absolutely relish the job that I am having right now. It suits me perfectly, professionally and characteristically. I can’t stress enough how appreciative I am of the environment that this job has to offer.
• What is difficult about your job?
I think the most challenging part about my job is having to deal with a large amount of homework in a limited budget of time. Sometimes it can get a little hectic and stressful too. Even though I have been working in it for quite some time, it still surprises me with the unbelievable workload, which drives me insane.
• Will you change your job in the future?
I wouldn’t say for sure if I will change my job at all because no one really knows what the future holds. But for now, I am quite content with the job I am having. It accommodates all my needs and allows me a lot of opportunities to put my knowledge and skills to good use. So, I guess I will stay this way for a little while.
• Do you think that your city is changing?
Based on my observation, HCM is a city that is not only changing but transforming at a rapid rate. Citizens have been wealthier, their mindsets are more open and civilized and there are more skyscrapers being erected in recent years. Even though they aren’t necessarily major changes, they mark the gradual transitions for this very city on the way to becoming the center of investment in the future.
2. Sample answer Part 2
Describe an ambition you have had for a long time.
• What is it?
• What did you do for it?
• When can you achieve it?
• And explain why you have this ambition?
Well, I am going to share with you an ambition that I have had for a long time. It is to immigrate to another English-speaking country to live and work there.
To be honest, the only plan I had for it was seeking a scholarship and somehow finding a job there to work permanently. However, I haven’t paid a lot of mind to it, because all of the countries that speak English still give me concerns about their social and political stability. Therefore, only when they make some radical changes that are more facilitating to immigrants, can I get to fulfill my dream.
Regarding when my ambition can be materialized, I am not even sure whether it can begin at all because of the currently ongoing turbulent situation of the global pandemic called the Covid-19. Also, racism towards people of color due to white supremacy is another big issue to take into consideration. Therefore, I might have to start thinking about giving it up.
I have had this ambition for quite some time, probably 10 years and at that time the country I was hoping to immigrate to was the USA. It was around the time of Obama’s administration, who got re-elected for another term thanks to his really inclusive policies to all people of the USA.
America at that time was really a great place to be living in, that was why I fantasized about becoming a civilian. Also, I used to believe that life would be better in a developed country due to the bombardment of America’s pop culture. In contrast, the reality is so much harsher and crueler than what is broadcast every day. I might sound a little pessimistic but I also have optimistic faith that the world will change for the better.
